Résumé 0

Conservation conflicts arise for basically ecological, economic, social and safetyrelated reasons. There may occasionally be contradictions between people’s desire to benefit from nature and conservation objectives. National parks in Turkey are run to a very strict policy. Mainly as a result of problems arising from this policy, local people may experience different problems, sometimes these escalate into a conflict between authorities and local people living around the national parks. In this study the contradictions between national, regional and local policies, objectives and strategies relating to nature conservation are evaluated alongside conservation and management plans in the case of Küre Mountains National Park (KMNP) in Turkey.
