Cet article étudie la mise en œuvre de la Convention pour la sauvegarde du patrimoine culturel immatériel de l’Unesco. Il analyse l’introduction graduelle de cette notion dans le cadre légal croate et les efforts incessants des professionnels qui sont impliqués dans sa préservation. La nijemo kolo [ronde muette] pratiquée dans l’arrière-pays dalmate sert d’exemple pour illustrer à la fois les questions théoriques et pratiques qui conduisent à l’inscription sur la liste de l’Unesco.

An Ethnologist in the World of Heritage. Recognizing the Croatian Intangible CultureExperiences in implementation of the Unesco’s Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage are in the focus of the text. It discusses the gradual introduction of intangible culture in Croatian legal framework and the on-going efforts of professionals who are involved in its preservation. Theoretical starting points and practical problems are presented on the example of inscription of the nijemo kolo [silent circle dance] of the Dalmatian hinterland to the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

Der Artikel beschreibt den Prozess der Verabschiedung der Unesco Konvention zur Erhaltung des immatriellen kulturellen Erbes in Kroatien. Der Autor geht insbesondere auf die rechtliche Einführung des Terminus ein sowie auf die Anstrengungen die mit seiner Durchsetzung verbunden sind. Der nijemo kolo Tanz aus dem dalmatischen Hinterland dient dem Autor als Beispiel für die theoretischen und praktischen Fragen, die in Zusammenhang mit der Aufnahme bei der Unesco aufgekommen sind.
