Calderon de la Barca’s most well-known sacramental auto puts on stage the different coeval conceptions of time. The metaphor of the theatrum mundi conveys a peculiar festive vision about the life of man, despite the constant alerts of the Catholic Church (Discretion) on ephemeral pleasures. Moreover, it is the same theatrical genre that allows it, since the theatrical representation of time emphasizes the qualitative character of temporality
