Jean-Christophe Angaut, « La construction du concept d’aliénation dans « Sur l’essence de l’argent » de Moses Hess », Études Germaniques, ID : 10670/1.stc1ln
Moses Hess’s On the Essence of Money (1843-1844) is reputed to be the first essay attempting to think of alienation as of a socio-political concept. This article scrutinizes the role played by the semantic field of alienation in the stage that precedes Hess’s inquiry, both being variations on his philosophy of action. After a systematic survey of this semantic field in his essay on money, this study examines the Hess-specific meaning of the concept of alienation before tracing its evolution in the later works of the communist German philosopher and pointing out its limits.
