As the literary, editorial and scientific boom in the period known as the Silver Age (1898-1936) comes together, this work seeks to demonstrate how the representation of medicine, which entails that of other sciences, in La ciencia del dolor (1907) by Marcos Rafael Blanco Belmonte (1871-1936), published in the collection El Cuento Semanal, El árbol de la ciencia (1911) by Pío Baroja and El médico rural (1919) by Felipe Trigo, is evidence of the disturbances caused in its daily medical praxis by the terrible academic education of students in medicine and advocates the necessary improvement of scientific education, as recommended by the Junta para Ampliación de Estudios e Investigaciones Científicas since its creation in 1907 in its reformist policy
