Guillaume Muller, « Essai de microhistoire : la destruction au sol de six Bearcat au début de la bataille de Diên Biên Phu », Revue Historique des Armées, ID : 10670/1.ucbohp
The battle of Diên Biên Phu, which accelerates the end of the Indochina War, also represents a critical moment in the relations between the French Army and Air Force. This event, which knew at first a passionate historiography, is for several years much better understood by the community of historians. The objective of this article is to accentuate a particular event of this battle : the destruction on the ground of six Bearcat fighters, which belonged to the detachment of the Air Force in the entrenched camp. Altogether little or badly known by the first days of the battle, it presents however the interest to be representative of the difficulties met by the Air Force at Diên Biên Phu, and more globally during the Indochina War.
