Résumé En

In the South of France, many sanctuaries were built in urban settlements. We know some sacred places existed before because some special stones have been found in the fortification or in other kind of walls. Several are linked to water spring, and often these sacred places are located near the fortification, sometimes near to the gate. As in the rest of the Celtic world, the name of the god related to these places appeared only at the very end of the Iron Age, through some gallo-greek epigraphy and mainly thanks to roman epigraphy and iconography.
