Here we examine the impact of machine translation (MT) on the linguistic and professional practices of a group of trainee translators when it comes to simulating the translation of an institutional website. While machine-assisted translation allows our students to manage the technical aspects of the project effectively, MT is only an initial step in this type of project.

Nous examinons l’impact de la traduction automatique (TA) sur les pratiques langagières et professionnelles et d’un groupe d’apprentis-traducteurs lorsqu’il s’agit de simuler la traduction d’un site web institutionnel. Si les outils d’aide à la traduction permettent à nos étudiant.es de gérer les aspects techniques du projet de manière efficace, la TA ne représente qu’une étape initiale dans la réalisation de ce type de projet.
