This article will try to retrace the creation process of "53 jours", Georges Perec's last novel, starting with the published novel and the manuscripts, studied at the Bibliothèque de l'Arsenal. However, this study is both genetic and anti-genetic. On the one hand we will follow the writing process,...
This article presents the essentials of the commented genetic dossier (preparatory elements, drafts, manuscripts) of chapter VIII of Part 3 of Gide's Faux-Monnayeurs, that of the banquet of the Argonauts, a pivotal moment of the plot : Jarry provokes young Bercail, Olivier returns and abandons himse...
Ill said seems to be the motto of Beckett's writing - and from the French Trilogy on, this purpose appears to be rendered through syntax. The article aims at questioning the genetic foundations of such an experimental prose. Phenomena of insertions are at stake, inasmuch as they tend to amplify the...
Several processes of drama writing can be found in Gabriel Marcel : development of a play out of a general idea, or out of a specific situation which, expanded, takes on a broader meaning. The Iconoclaste, a key play in the evolution of the philosopher's thinking, illustrates the first type of creat...

The Vie de Napoléon by Stendhal, is an open and polyphonie work by reason both of its borrowings but especially because of the many interferences of different viewpoints and the variety of handwritings that contribute to the elaboration of the page. Indeed, the bound copy of the first volume ("Life...
By comparing two variant editions of a sociological text (Luc Boltanski and Laurent Thévenot, Les Economies de la grandeur, PUF, 1987, and De la justification, Gallimard, 1991), this article will attempt to show the point of genetic criticism methods for the sociology of texts and the epistemology o...

Well before the Vie de Napoléon and the Mémoires sur Napoléon, the unfinished manuscript of L'Histoire d'Espagne, recently published, reveals through its genesis the young Stendhal's concerns as early as 1808, when he was a budding Historian. This study will analyze at a macro and micro-structural l...
This study of the compositional genesis of Beethoven's Piano Sonata in E Major, op. 109, shows the inadequacy of a concept of the musical text as a closed totality, pointing instead to the evolution of the artwork as a dynamic, tensional configuration. The first movement was originally conceived as...

Martin du Gard longed for an "objective" novel, in which he could erase every trace of himself by a patient polishing through a series of rewritings, tending towards an evident narrative, a transparent style, a performance-fiction without the author's discourse. This discipline becomes flawed when t...
The problems raised by the application of genetic criticism tools to movie making are highlighted here with the particular characteristics of Soviet cinema : the question of the author's status ; scenario writing methods ; plurality of control and censorship agencies. These questions are first exami...

We will study : the medium, the way the space in the pag...
