IRNWC - International Research Network for War Commemoration

Collection description

  • The RNGWC is a group of social science and humanities researchers with a common interest in Great War commemoration, established in April 2012 at a symposium at the Australian National University on the "Politics of the Past". Our membership includes people interested in commemorative activity in the UK, France, Belgium, New Zealand and Australia, especially in its socio-political, historiographical and diplomatic dimensions. We believe that Great War commemoration is implicitly international, and that scholarly collaboration is therefore crucial to illuminating the experience of memorial activities in our own nations.
