In Languedoc, several tens of villages and towns are marked by their very regular circular form which shows the concrete applications of a model of spatial organization considered up to now purely imaginary. The extension of this model, whose apogee was attained in the years 1080-1130, was no doubt linked to the initiatives of Bernard-Aton IV Trencavel, and signals the birth of medieval urbanism.
