Michel Prestreau, « Le site néolithique et protohistorique des Falaises de Prépoux à Villeneuve-la-Guyard (Yonne) », Gallia Préhistoire (documents), ID : 10.3406/galip.1992.2302
The site of Villeneuve-la-Guyard is located in the Yonne valley, 10 km to the confluence of this river with the river Seine. Its excavation began in 1985 and ended in 1988. We found the remains from one or two early Neolithic village(s) and its cemetery (Villeneuve-Saint-Germain group), the remains from an early middle Neolithic ditched enclosure (Cerny group) and the remains from two later middle Neolithic fenced enclosures (Noyen group). During the Bronze Age and the Iron Age (Hallstatt, Tène I-IIa) the site was a great cemetery : 104 flat graves or barrow graves were found (inhumations and cremations). A settlement associated with the cemetery was discovered. At last, a post roman conquest village with farms, granaries and a fence was excavated.
