Several fragments of a measurement table were recently found in the forum of the ancient town of Murviel-lès-Montpellier. The inscription have been integrated. Its study offers indications upon political and administrative life, and confirms that Murviel-lès-Montpellier, on the western fringes of the great city of Nemausus, was a civic center, enjoying the latin right. Epigraphic discoveries point out that this civic community corresponds with Samnagenses quoted by Plinius.
