Quinary system stremming from fingers of the hand is a basic feature of tribal organization in the Berberian world, as it is proven by many examples in present time from Morocco to Kabylia, and Sahara. The Quinquegentanei is one case among several others which could suggest a similar system in antiquity.

Le système quinaire, associé aux doigts de la main, est caractéristique de l'organisation socio-politique des tribus berbères comme le montrent de nombreux exemples actuels du Maroc à la Kabylie et au Sahara. Le cas des Quinquegentanei, parmi d'autres, révèle qu'il en était de même dans l'antiquité.
