La seconde campagne de prospection archéologique couvrant la plaine de Malia a livré deux documents inscrits en écriture hiéroglyphique Cretoise : l'extrémité d'une barre d'argile à quatre faces (trois sont conservées) où l'on reconnaît quatre signes, et un fragment d'anse d'amphore portant trois signes. Le premier document apporte la preuve qu'il existait au moins un autre dépôt d'archives en écriture hiéroglyphique à Malia, en plus de ceux du Palais et du Quartier Mu.
