Το συνάλλαγμα στην αρχαία οικονομία Τα πέντε άρθρα που συγκεντρώθηκαν εδώ αποτελούν τα πρακτικά μιας ημερίδας με θέμα το συνάλλαγμα στην αρχαία οικονομία, η οποία διοργανώθηκε στο Πανεπιστήμιο Lille 3 στις 24 Απριλίου 2015. Πραγ-ματεύονται την οργάνωση της αγοραπωλησίας συναλλάγματος στην ελληνιστική εποχή, με ιδιαίτερη έμφαση στις περιπτώσεις της Δήλου και της Αιγύπτου, όπου ο πλούτος των μαρτυριών στις επιγραφές και τους παπύρους φανερώνει δύο πολύ διαφορετικές καταστάσεις : το συνάλλαγμα ήταν ελεύθερος στο εμπορικό κέντρο της Δήλου, ενώ αποτελούσε βασιλικό μονοπώλιο στην πτολεμαϊκή Αίγυπτο. Μια ενδε-λεχής ανάλυση των δεδομένων μας επιτρέπει να διαπιστώσουμε τί σημαίνει αυτό για την κυκλοφορία των νομισμάτων, τον καθορισμό των ισοτιμιών συναλλάγματος και την κοινωνική θέση των αργυρα-μοιβών στις δύο περιοχές. Η συνάντηση αυτή επέτρεψε ακόμη την αντιπαραβολή των διαφορετικών απόψεων των συγγραφέων σχετικά με την αλλαγή και τον πτολεμαϊκό κόλλυβο. Τα τρία τελευταία άρθρα φανερώνουν τις διαφορετικές ερμηνείες που προέκυψαν.

Allagè and kollybos. The monetary exchange in the ancient economy The five articles brought together in this dossier are the result of a one-day seminar on monetary exchange in the Ancient Economy held at Lille 3 on 24th April, 2015. They deal with the organization of exchange in the Hellenistic period, paying particular attention to the case of Delos and Egypt, where the wealth of inscriptions and papyri reveals two very different situations : exchange was free at the commercial centre of Delos whereas it was subject to a royal monopoly in Ptolemaic Egypt. In-depth analysis of the evidence enables us to observe what this implies as regards the circulation of coinage, the establishment of exchange rates and the status of money-changers in the two regions. This meeting also enabled the authors’ differing points of view on the allagè and the Ptolemaic kollybos to be compared. The last three articles highlight the resulting differences in interpretation.

Les cinq articles réunis dans ce dossier sont le résultat d’une journée d’étude sur le change dans l’économie antique organisée à Lille 3 le 24 avril 2015. Ils traitent de l’organisation du change à l’époque hellénistique en s’arrêtant plus particulièrement aux exemples de Délos et de l’Égypte, où la richesse des inscriptions et des papyrus fait apparaître deux situations très différentes : le change était libre dans la place commerciale de Délos, alors qu’il était soumis à un monopole royal en Égypte ptolémaïque. Une analyse approfondie de la documentation permet d’observer ce que cela entraîne pour la circulation des monnaies, l’établissement des taux de change et le statut des changeurs dans les deux régions. Cette rencontre a également permis de confronter les points de vue divergents des auteurs sur l’allagè et le kollybos ptolémaïque. Les trois derniers articles mettent en évidence les différences d’interprétation qui en découlent.
