O. Kane — The Moors in 18th Century Futa Toro. The fall of the Denyankobe dynasty is to a large extent a consequence of Moorish interventions in the factional quarrels of the Futa Toro kingdom. After 1786 a national reaction led by the marabouts results into the diminution of both the Denyankobe and the Moorish influence.
