Les Baou de Saint-Marcel à Marseille. Etude stratigraphique du secteur III (VIe-IIe siècles avant J.-C.)

The authors provide a new contribution to the knowledge of this indigenous habitat near Greek Marseilles by presenting the results of their excavations in a sector near the northern fortifications. They discern several chronological periods, from about 560 to the end of the IInd c. B. C. For each period the principal buildings and related structures are presented along with a reasoned, quantified and illustrated inventory of the movable objects from the strata, mainly pottery. The end of the Vth c. and the beginning of the IVth c. B.C., both up till now very poorly know periods, receive particular attention.

Les auteurs apportent une nouvelle contribution à la connaissance de cet habitat indigène, proche de Marseille grecque, par la présentation des résultats de leurs fouilles dans un secteur voisin de la fortification septentrionale. Plusieurs périodes chronologiques sont discernées, des années 560 à la fin du IIe s. av. J.-C. Pour chacune d'elles sont présentés les principaux aménagements architecturaux et les structures liées ainsi qu'un inventaire raisonné, quantifié et illustré du mobilier stratifié, essentiellement céramique. La fin du Ve s. et le début du IVe s. av. J.-C, périodes jusqu'alors très mal connues dans l'habitat, retiennent particulièrement l'attention.
