In 1996, trial-trenching carried out on the Griffon site at Vitrolles, allowed us to bring to light the plan of a large building that had previously been found during field-walking after a forest-fire. The monument is surrounded by other structures, and undoubtedly, a wall. The occupation of the site is dated to between 225 and 150 BC.

En 1996, des sondages réalisés sur le site du Griffon, à Vitrolles, ont permis de dresser le plan d'un bâtiment de grande dimension, déjà repéré lors de prospections consécutives à un incendie. Le monument est entouré d'autres constructions et sans doute d'une fortification. L'occupation est datée entre 225 et 150 av. J.-C.
