Résumé
The author, who published in 1985 a ground-breaking biography of the author of Les liaisons dangereuses called Choderlos de Laclos or l'obstination, has since continued the study of Laclos and here publishes the results of his research. He corrects certain hypotheses, solves some puzzles and publishes for the first time new unknown documents. The article does not however hide the remaining zones of darkness in his biography nor does it resolve the problem of literary creation which made this conscientious officer the vir unius libri.
