GPSG : un formalisme pour une syntaxe sans transformation ni coindexation

The main aspects of Generalized Phrase Structure Grammar developped by Gazdar and others in the last few years is presented here as an elaboration and combination of (i) ideas underlying the contruction of categorial grammars and (ii) the system of signatures and types found within the theory of the Articulator proposed by Blanche-Noëlle Grunig. In the present paper, there are some minor discrepancies from GPSG-literature : (i) the property of being a head is taken to be a feature, (ii) the mechanism of metarules is not treated, (iii) there are no universal assumptions concerning linear precedence (i.e., the so called ECPO-property is neglected).

La Grammaire de Constituants Généralisée (GPSG) développée récemment par Gazdar et al. est présentée ici comme une élaboration et combinaison des idées sous-jacentes (i) à la construction des grammaires catégorielles et (ii) au système de signatures et types dans la théorie de l'Articulateur de Blanche-Noëlle Grunig. La présentation ici faite diffère en certains points de celle adoptée par les tenants de la GPSG : (i) la propriété d'être tête est décrite à l'aide d'un trait , (ii) le mécanisme des métarègles n'est pas traité, (iii) il n'y a pas d'universaux concernant la relation de précédence linéaire (soit : la propriété de ECPO est négligée).
