The recent creation of the Pingualuit National Park in Nunavik in Arctic Canada appears as one lever for the touristic exploitation of this huge territory. Official discourse puts the accent on the fact that such National Parks help economic development, thereby masking both their geopolitical importance and their role for Inuit identity. The analysis of the marketing strategy for selling this destination reveals tensions regarding the importance given to these aims ; divergences between Inuit and non Inuit views appear during the discussions about the scenography of the interpretation centre in Kangiqsujuaq. The compromise reached can be understood in terms of the strength of the inuit spoken word and the importance of negotiation in the inuit tradition.

La récente création du parc national des Pingualuit au Nunavik dans l'Arctique canadien apparaît comme un des leviers de l'exploitation touristique de cet immense territoire. La création se fait en associant étroitement les populations inuit. Mais, l'étude des campagnes de promotion de cette destination révèle des contradictions. Les débats concernant la muséographie du centre d'interprétation à Kangiqsujuaq reflètent également des divergences d'opinion qui ont néanmoins abouti à un consensus.
