Résumé En Fr

The dramatic death of Henri IV (May, 14th 1610) has given rise to a lot of public reactions, in particular to an occasional poetic production. Among the poets who put pen to paper, the young student in theology of the academy of Montauban, Paul Ferry, born in Metz, writes stanzas which afford to analyse the attachment of the protestants, in particular of Metz, to the king. Once he’s become pastor and is back in his birthplace, Ferry shows the same loyalty and expresses it in different ways, in particular in his correspondence with his uncle, the royal procurator of the city.
