The author takes us on a sentimental and literary journey through Switzerland, where each community is associated with a writer, an inventor, a scientist or with an intrinsic quality of the place. Thus we cross the Geneva of Mercè Rodoreda, the Coppet of Mme de Staël, the Lausanne of Gibbon. The journey continues along Lake Constance in Friedrichshafen (Zeppelin Museum), St.-Gall and its Humanist Library, Trogen (Appenzell) and its Cantonal School, then Bern with Einstein, Aarau, Interlaken, to finish in Sils Maria with Nietzsche, Proust, Rilke, Hesse, Benjamin and the poem of Lake Lamartine in watermark.

L'auteure nous emmène dans un voyage sentimental et littéraire à travers la Suisse, où chaque localité est associée à un écrivain, une écrivaine, un inventeur, un scientifique ou à une qualité intrinsèque du lieu. Ainsi traverse-t-on la Genève de Mercè Rodoreda, le Coppet de Germaine de Staël, le Lausanne de Gibbon.
