Monique Schneider, « L'enjeu du matricide », Les cahiers du GRIF, ID : 10.3406/grif.1993.1876
Misogyny, instead of building up a negative image of feminity, usually ressorts to a doubled-sided strategy. On the one hand, it sets off an idealized and unreachable figure, a pure dazzling form ; on the other hand it denies an entity which stands for a undefinable element rather than a form, connected with multiplicity. Athena's figure is the product of such a doubled-sided strategy, a civic goddess, an educator, embodying the deny of a matricial origin. She did not know « the darkness of a womb », a darkness which is consequently sent back to the erinyies. « White », founding misogyny, in the wake of which the psychoanalytical approach of woman is defined. The study of a form of « scarlet » misogyny which does not deny its violence (Alain Roger's Le Misogyne) will give shape to what, in woman, is conceived as a primal séjour, Le as a primary identity. Hence the necessity, for any subjective claim to ressort, for a while or for ever, to matricide. The acknowledgment of the founding matricide would have the same function as parricide hypothesis : enabling an inscription.
