Résumé En Fr

Matrimonial compensations and inheritance in the face of aids : strategies of responses from HIV-infected women of kigali, Rwanda The aim of the study lead (1991-1993) with thirty HIV-infected women and their children living at Kigali was to identify the responses of these women and their family circle to the AIDS. The connection that the wo¬ men make between inheritance, matrimonial compensations and AIDS is causal. These responses show nevertheless that the control of HIV transmission and the handling of the consequences of AIDS depend not only on individual behaviour, but also on social and gender relations codified well before the irruption of AIDS.
