Text, initially defined as "a linguistic, sequential and bound message, graphically materialized and intended for being read by somebody who did not write it", has various organizing principles, such as sequence, tree structure, levels, patchwork, web. I begin with text representations induced by word processing. Then I schematically deal with textuality from the point of view of meaning construction. Finally I use hypertext to enrich my approach to textuality.

On montrera que le texte, défini au départ comme "message linguistique séquentiel et borné, matérialisé graphiquement et destiné à être lu par quelqu'un d'autre que le scripteur", fait coexister divers modes d'organisation, qui peuvent être séquentiels, arborescents, à étages, texturaux, réticulaires. On partira des représentations du texte induites par le traitement de texte. On examinera ensuite sommairement la textualité envisagée du point de vue de la construction du sens. Enfin on montrera comment l'hypertexte enrichit notre regard sur le texte.
