Iphigenia : Poetics and Politics of Sacrifice Racine's much criticised substitution of Iphigenia by Eriphilia at the dénouement actually rests on an argued and coherent interpretation of the classics which depends on a sophisticated theory of discourse at the same time as it propounds one cogent with Racine's career.
