Résumé En

At the Limits of "Mise-en-Scène" Because theatre seems to have experimented every scenic possibility, it seems to want itself closer to reading. But however minimalist the staging, any performed reading supposes some staging — reminding us that the Anglo-Saxon tradition speaks of performance where the Continental one speaks of theatricality, and that ultimately neither can be completely independent of the other.
