From Socio-Criticism to Argumentation in Discourse Apparently, socio-criticism and the study of argumentation have very different aims; but the new rhetoric, which takes into account the idea the lo- cutor forms of his audience, coupled with the concept of the text's argumentative dimension, serve socio-criticism, as the analysis of a wartime novel by Lucie Delarue-Mardrus shows.
