The Generations and Gender Programme (GGP) was launched in 2000 by the Population Activities Unit of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE). Centred on family-building and relationships between generations and between genders, the project involves two main components : establishing a three-wave longitudinal survey of approximately 10 000 women and men aged 18 to 79 (Generations and Gender Surveys - GGS) and collecting contextual data in each of the participating countries. This article provides details about this project, reports on its progress and suggests a few potential analytical perspectives.

Le projet Generations and Gender Programme a été lancé en 2000 par la Population Activities Unit de la Commission économique des Nations unies pour l’Europe (United Nations Economic Commission for Europe - UNECE). Centré sur la construction de la famille et sur les relations entre générations et entre sexes, il se décompose en deux principaux volets : la mise en place d’une enquête longitudinale en trois vagues auprès d’environ 10 000 femmes et hommes âgés de 18 à 79 ans (Generations and Gender Surveys - GGS) et la collecte de données contextuelles dans chacun des pays participants. Cet article donne quelques précisions sur ce projet et son avancée et propose quelques-unes des perspectives d’analyse qu’il devrait permettre.
