A mosaic representing a trading ship entering Alexandria harbour has been discovered in an aristocratic domus on the Quirinal in Rome. The house has been identified as the home of a late second-century Roman Senator, Ti. Claudius Claudianus. Wine amphorae, DR. 2-4, dating from that time, bear the stamp of that name. This senator would be a wine-growing landowner in Campania and an Alexandrine nauicularius.

Une mosaïque représentant un navire de commerce entrant dans le port d'Alexandrie a été découverte dans une domus aristocratique sur le Quirinal à Rome. Cette maison est identifiée comme la demeure d'un sénateur romain de la fin du Ile siècle, 77. Claudius Claudianus. Des amphores à vin, Dr. 2-4, datant de cette époque sont timbrées à ce nom. Ce sénateur serait un propriétaire viticole en Campanie et un nauicularius alexandrin.
