Seit 2006 wurden an der „ ZAC du Pôle d’activités du Griffon“ in Barenton-Bugny, Chambry und Laon (Departement Aisne) archäologische Grabungen durchgeführt. 2008 entdeckten die Archäologen ein Handwerkerviertel (Töpferei und Metallurgie) aus der zweiten Hälfte des 1. Jh. n. Chr. Die Strukturen waren überwiegend in einer doppelten Umfriedung angesiedelt. Von der Keramikproduktion zeugt ein Ofen mit ovaler Heizkammer und Lochtenne mit zentraler Zungenmauer. Grubenfeuerstellen scheinen mit diesem Handwerk in Verbindung zu stehen. Die Größe der Strukturen deutet darauf hin, dass ihre Produkte für eine Kundschaft aus der nahen Umgebung bestimmt waren. Die Produktion des Töpferofens setzt sich aus terra nigra (überwiegend Trinkgefäße) zusammen sowie dunkler rauhwandiger Ware (Platten, Näpfe und Töpfe). Die macro-und mikroskospischen Untersuchungen zeigen die Haupteigenschaften der BVG – Tongruppen auf, die einerseits mit den Produktionen aus Reims und dem Sektor zwischen Vesle und Marne und andererseits mit den Produktionen aus Noyon und Vauclair konfrontiert werden.

Within the framework of the archaeological research begun in 2006 on the ZAC du " Pôle d’activités du Griffon” in the district of Barenton-Bugny, Chambry and Laon (Aisne), the 2008 excavations focussed on a zone characterized by artisan activity (pottery and metallurgy) dating from the second half of the 1st century A. D. Most of the remains are situated in a double enclosure. The production of pottery is attested by the existence of a kiln with an oval chamber with a firebars with a median strip. Some hearth-pits may have been connected with these activities. The size of the remaining vestiges shows that this area was devoted to supplying the needs of the surrounding settlements. As concerns the products of the kiln, they consist of terra nigra (drinking vessels) and of dark coloured rough ware (dishes, bowls and pots). The results of the micro and macroscopic examinations highlighted the main characteristics of the BVG group of clay, comparable with those of Reims and the Vesle/ Marne districts, and those of Noyon and Vauclair.

Dans le cadre de recherches archéologiques menées depuis 2006 sur la ZAC du " Pôle d’activités du Griffon" à Barenton-Bugny, Chambry et Laon (Aisne), un secteur à vocation artisanale (poterie et métallurgie) daté de la seconde moitié du Ier s. ap. J.-C. a été fouillé en 2008. Les structures sont majoritairement implantées au sein d’un double enclos. La production de poterie céramique y est attestée par la présence d’un four à laboratoire ovale, avec une sole à languette centrale. Des fosses-foyers semblent pouvoir être associées à cet artisanat. La taille des structures artisanales indique que ce secteur était voué à répondre aux besoins locaux des occupations environnantes. Quant à la production du four, elle se compose de terra nigra (tournée vers le service de la boisson) et de céramique rugueuse sombre (plats, jattes et pots). Les examens macro-et microscopiques ont pu mettre en évidence les caractéristiques principales du groupe de pâtes BVG, mis en perspective avec les productions rémoises (Reims et secteur entre Vesle Marne) et celles de Noyon et Vauclair.
