Le Néolithique ancien et moyen de la vallée de la Brisse (Loir-et-Cher) / The early and middle Neolithic in the Brisse valley (Loir-et-Cher)

The important discovery of lithic tools and pottery after deep ploughing in the area of several communes in the Brisse valley (Loir-et-Cher) led to an excavation in 1973. The excavation revealed two homogeneous groups attribuable to the Neolithic and early Iron Age periods. These two assemblages are studied here, together with material of comparable date obtained through surface collection. They demonstrate, notably, that the early and middle Neolithic occupation of the valley was long and that an important production of slate bracelets was linked to both periods. The chronological sequence and regional context of the finds are discussed.

D'importantes découvertes d'outillage lithique et céramique effectuées après des labours profonds sur le territoire de plusieurs communes de la vallée de la Brisse, dans le Loir-et-Cher, ont fourni l'occasion d'une fouille en 1973. Celle-ci a révélé deux ensembles homogènes attribuables au Néolithique et au début de l'Age du Fer. On étudie ici ces deux assemblages et les matériaux d'âge comparable provenant des récoltes de surface. Ils montrent notamment une longue occupation de la vallée au Néolithique ancien et moyen ; on peut rattacher à ces périodes une importante production de bracelets de schiste. La séquence chronologique et l'insertion dans le contexte régional sont discutées.
