A Mercury bust, provincial variation of Hermes-like representations deriving from models of classical tradition of the Vth century BC, has been found afortime in the city of Toulon (Var). This bust sculpted in high relief from the herald of the Gods wears the traditional attributes (caduceus, winged petasos, stapled chlamys), and might date back to a time period between the end of the Nerva-Antonine dynasty to the Severan era (late 2nd century A. D. – early 3rd century A. D.), spreading period of Telo Martius Portus.

Un buste de Mercure, variante provinciale de représentations hermaïques dérivées de modèles de tradition classique du Ve siècle av. J.-C., a été retrouvé anciennement dans la ville de Toulon (Var). Ce buste adossé en haut-relief du héraut des dieux porte les traditionnels attributs (caducée, pétase ailé, chlamyde agrafée) et peut être daté entre la fin des Antonins et l’époque sévérienne (fin IIe siècle ap. J.-C. / premier tiers IIIe siècle ap. J.-C.), période d’expansion de Telo Martius Portus.
