This paper proposes a first analysis of the conditions in which physiotherapists make their diagnosis. This approach shows that the way physiotherapists perceive the treatment they do is based on the interweaving of two stages : diagnosis and treatment. The authors stress the importance of a paradoxical process of joint production of the treatment, which requires both the patient’s “ active” participation and the objectivization of his or her body subjected to the practitioner’s manipulation.

L’article propose une première analyse des conditions de production du diagnostic kinésithérapique. L’approche montre que la perception que le kinésithérapeute se fait du soin qu’il réalise est fondée sur l’imbrication des étapes de diagnostic et de soin. Les auteurs soulignent que cela s’accompagne d’un processus paradoxal de coproduction du soin qui requiert à la fois la participation «active » du patient et l’objectivation de son corps soumis aux manipulations du soignant.
