Ludovic Notte, The Stables of Robert II, Count of Artois (ca. 1292-1302). The exceptional series of accounting records kept in the departmental archives of the Pas-de-Calais allows us to detail the day-to-day operations of the offices of the Stables of Robert II, Count of Artois, and introduces us to the general study of the Hotel. The expenses for the horses of the Count come under three main headings (ordinary, extraordinary, Séjour of the horse) that each have a separate account. The organization recovered is not specifically French, but being the work of the Robert II's circle it is possible to recognize in it Italian- Angevin influences (stud farm, accounting, personnel), words or uses originating in the French tradition (extraordinary, horses' «restor») and an adaptation, possibly unique in Artois : the creation of the horses Séjours in the close vicinity of the major residences of the Count (Hesdin and Fampoux), which seems to have been created before the Séjours of the King of France's horses.

Les exceptionnelles séries de pièces comptables conservées aux archives départementales du Pas-de-Calais permettent de détailler les opérations courantes des offices de l'Ecurie de Robert II, comte d'Artois, et d'introduire ainsi à l'étude générale de l'Hôtel. Les dépenses pour les chevaux du comte sont réparties entre trois postes principaux (ordinaire, extraordinaire, Séjour des chevaux) aux comptabilités propres. L'organisation retrouvée n'est pas proprement française, mais oeuvre de l'entourage de Robert II, il est possible d'y reconnaître des influences italo-angevines (haras, comptabilité, personnel...), des termes ou pratiques de tradition française (extraordinaire, restor des chevaux) et une adaptation, peut-être proprement artésienne : la création des Séjours de chevaux à proximité des principales résidences comtales (Hesdin et Fampoux), qui semble bien précéder celle du Séjour des chevaux du roi de France.

Er is een buitengewoon volledige reeks boekhoudkundige stukken over de stallen van Robert II bewaard gebleven in het departementsarchief van Pas-de-Calais. Die geven de gewone operaties weer van het beheer en bieden stof voor de studie van zijn hofhouding. De uitgaven voor de paarden vallen onder drie posten (gewoon, buiteng- woon, verblijf van de paarden). De inwendige organisatie is niet echt Frans, maar zij weerspiegelt de samenstelling van zijn hof met een sterke invloed uit Italie en de Anjou (voor de stoeterij, boekhouding en personeel...) maar ook een Franse traditie (voor het buitengewone en de zorg voor de paarden). Daarnaast is er een eigen Artesische ontwikkeling voor wat de verblijfplaats van paarden in de buurt van de voornaamste grafelijke residenties (Hesdin en Fampoux) betreft. Dat was het voor- beeld voor de « Séjour de chevaux » van de Franse koning.
