Résumé En

The article concerns the history of this autobiographical novel which illustrates in a particularly fascinating way the principle of ideological commitment after the Revolution of 1917. Not only does Nikolai Ostrovski's cult text, the Soviets' ideological Bible, illustrate the way in which the «new Soviet man» was constructed, it also has much to say about the principle of the personal commitment of a writer in the service of his people.
