Mobilization Of •World Of Professional Training” by The Public Administration (1959-1971) During the 1960s a structure was created within the French public administration to generate and guide initiatives likely to foster the provision of adult education. Given this encouragement, the •world of professional training” then beginning to take shape devised and implemented a range of different programs for both professional and continuing education. However, the broad scope of these programs was gradually narrowed to just professional education, because of the economic constraints on the •world of professional training” and the institutional arrangements defined by the public administration.

RÉSUMÉ: Au cours des années soixante se constitue, au coeur de l’administration publique, un dispositif qui suscite et oriente les initiatives propices au développement de la formation des adultes. Fort de cet appui, le «monde professionnel de la formation» en constitution imagine et réalise un ensemble d’actions de formation diversifiées qui se répartissent entre la formation professionnelle et l’éducation permanente. Cette hétérogénéité des productions sera progressivement réduite à l’objectif de formation professionnelle afin de satisfaire aux conditions de développement de ce «monde professionnel» dépendant des objectifs économiques et des formes institutionnelles définies par l’administration publique.
