Women integration in biomedical institution through the constitution of parity. A case study in a rural mexican area In Mexico, in spite of the important extension of maternai and infant health institution in rural areas, many women do not have access to antenatal care in the health System during their pregnancies. Through the identification of the kind of antenatal care (doctors and/or traditional midwives) and the measure of its intensity, the paper shows that the health System integration is questioned at each pregnancy and but especially at the first. The results of a demographic survey done in three rural villages in Morelos state (Mexico) show that when the biomedical follow-up occurs at the first pregnancy, it is rarely questioned for the next ones. In the others cases, the delivery circumstances become critical to confirm the health system integration.
