Résumé En Fr

By taking into account the new conditions of industrial and technological innovation, the inadequacy of ordinary explanations of innovation is analyzed ; . and an alternative, proposed. The Schumpterian model of the entrepreneur and the model of the integration of the innovation process in big firms both have a linear and individualized view of invention. Furthermore local analyses do not satisfactorily explain the successful, synergetic concentration of high tech industries in certain regions. Following an examination of the new conditions in this industrial branch, a nonlinear conception is proposed of technological innovation as being inseparable from social innovation, i.e., from the capacity to invent and adopt new forms of cooperation.
