Résumé En

The Russian Revolution and ecology (1917-1934), Jean Batou. Why did the ex-USSR's communism also give birth to the ecological catastrophe that is threatening us, from the drying up Aral Sea to the post-Chernobyl potential nuclear catastrophes ? The author distinguishes two periods, before and after 1928. During Lenin's time, scientific ecology could be ex-pressed and even played a role as an interest group. But Stalinism broke its drive and bureaucracy took over, muzzling men and their environment.
