De Gaulle, America and the Atlantic Alliance, Frédéric Bozo. The American archives show that the 1966 crisis of the Atlantic Alliance did not have the effects too often presented. General de Gaulle's outburst was the end of a process wich clarified the relations between the two disunited allies, France and the United States, and paradoxically reinforced the cohesion of NATO.
