Mежду Поэмой без героя Анны Ахматовой и балетным либретто к этому произведению находится промежуточный текст или третий прототекст, который являет собой первичный замысел, зашифрованный в коде внутренней речи. Cвоей незавершённостью либретто обязано самой природе образности, связанной с данным кодом. Код внутренней речи обусловливает специфику полимодальных образов в набросках либретто, находящихся между полюсом визуально-музыкальным и полюсом вербальным, диктует особое построение сюжета и способствует рождению мотивов сновидения и трансформации, которые становятся структурообразующими для текста либретто.

Between Anna Ahmatova’s Heroless poem and the ballet libretto which was derived from it, there is an intermediate text or a third prototext, which represents its original idea encrypted in the code of internal discourse. The unfinished state of the libretto comes from the nature of its images that cannot be separated from this code. The internal discourse code also determines the specificity of the polymodal images of the rough draft of the libretto which is located between the visual and musical pole on the one hand, and the verbal pole on the other hand; this code dictates plot construction and generates the dreamlike and transitional patterns that structure the tex.
