This article explores different modes of representation of technological bodies in a connected environment. Using Battlestar Galactica’s spin-off, Caprica, we intend to assess various figurations of cybercorporeity and of the subjectivities within them. Our focus will mainly be on the role played by images and screens. What is the impact of the virtualization or the mechanization of bodies on subjects and on their perception of reality? Caprica offers a complex case-study as the heroine develops into three distinct entities: an organic being, an avatar and a robot. We will see how visual representation generates fundamental ontological and epistemological questions that are central to the contemporary reflection on digital worlds and our (new?) relationship to reality.
