A vida social de moradores permanentes de um Hospital psiquiátrico

Neste artigo, objetivo tecer uma etnografia da vida social de moradores permanentes de um hospital psiquiátrico, espírita e asilar, a fim de compreender, no devir institucional, algumas formas particulares de viver e experimentar a institucionalização. Busco observar vivências que subsistem à rotina comum obrigatória para identificar a possível presença de auto-organizações daqueles que vivem o/no local institucional. A ala escolhida dentro de um hospital localizado no interior do estado de São Paulo foi o “Lar Abrigado”, um anexo que possui seis casas e, atualmente, abriga vinte e um moradores. Optei por esta ala porque nela vivem moradores permanentes que, devido ao longo período de internação, têm pouco ou nenhum contato com familiares ou outros responsáveis e, por este motivo, mesmo após os processos de reforma psiquiátrica, continuam a habitar o Hospital de forma permanente. O trabalho etnográfico naquele ambiente começou em 2016, mas os dados trazidos nesta pesquisa foram refletidos após um intenso convívio no mesmo ambiente por 90 dias seguidos, em 2018.

In this work, my mainly concern is to come up with an ethnography of permanent residents’ social life in a psychiatric, spiritist and asylum hospital, in order to understand the sociability and particular ways of living and experiencing the institutionalization. I try to observe ways of livingness that subsists in a mandatory ordinary routine, in order to identify possible presence of self-organizations from those who live in the institutional place and, this way, recognize the motivations, concerns and yearnings that permeate their daily life. The hospital wing chosen for the research, in a hospital in the countryside of São Paulo, was the “Lar Abrigado” ("Sheltered Home”), because it is an environment with permanent residents whose lives histories are often related to institutionalization. The referred ethnographic work began in 2016, but the data presented in this article has been developed after an intense coexistence at the same environment through 90 days straight in 2018.
