À descoberta na Biblionave foi um projecto de promoção da leitura que decorreu nas Bibliotecas Municipais do distrito de Castelo Branco, que teve o apoio da Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian. Iniciou em 2006 e terminou em 2009. O projecto teve dois objectivos principais: promover a leitura na Biblioteca Municipal e a cooperação entre as Bibliotecas. Os destinatários foram os leitores entre os oito e os treze anos de idade. O projecto baseou-se em quarenta livros infantis e juvenis de ficção e não ficção, dos quais os participantes deveriam ler até seis livros. As leituras deviam ser registadas no Diário de Leitura. Foram criadas estratégias para incentivar os participantes a ler, por exemplo, no interior do Diário de Leitura existia um mapa incompleto, que conforme o participante ia realizando as leituras ia-lhe sendo entregue autocolantes que permitiam completar o mapa. Num site criado no âmbito do projecto podia-se consultar a lista de livros, os autores, ler e ouvir excertos dos livros, deixar sugestões ou comentários e, também, acompanhar a evolução do projecto. Por cada livro existia também um marcador oferecido ao participante. No final todos os participantes receberam um Certificado de Participação e os vencedores, prémios. Durante a viagem da Biblionave pelas bibliotecas, cada biblioteca adaptou o projecto à sua realidade. A avaliação foi sendo feita localmente através de questionários. A viagem da Biblionave terminou em Setembro de 2009 com o regresso à base: Penamacor.

À descoberta na Biblionave was a project supported by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. It began in 2006 and finished in 2009. The project had two main objectives: the promotion of reading in the public libraries and also the cooperation between the municipal libraries of the Castelo Branco district. The target public is the reader between eight to thirteen years-old. The project was based on forty fiction and non fiction books for children and teenagers. The participant was challenged to read six books. When she/he enrolled, each reader received a Reading Diary (RD) where they could take note of the books read. Some strategies where planned to motivate the participants, as for instance, inside the RD there is a map to be completed with stickers that are handed out to the participant as she/he reads each of the six books. For each book read the participant received a correspondent bookmark. An Internet site was created where data on the forty books could be found, the authors, excerpts of the books could be read or listened to, one could leave one’s or read other’s suggestions and comments and one could also follow the project development. Each participant received a Participation Certificate and the winners got a prize. Each participant library was free to adapt the project to its needs. The evaluation was made through the use of questionnaires for the participants and the library staff. The Biblionave’s trip finished with its return home in September 2009.
