The present study of the album Fifty-two Plates Engraved from Portraits by Van Dyck and Others, 16th - 17th Century, includes commentaries on the conservation research, the album provenance, bibliographical information, acquisition; details of the conservation treatment: the binding, text block, and graphic works consolidation; and it underlines the conservation integration of the historical repairs through contemporary conservation materials applied for stabilization of the album condition and enhancement of the binding flexibility and solidity.

L’étude de l’album « Cinquante-deux plaques gravées des portraits par Van Dyck et autres » inclut des commentaires sur les recherches menées pour sa conservation, la provenance de l’ensemble et des informations bibliographiques. Sont également présentés les détails du traitement de conservation : la reliure, les interventions sur le corps de l’ouvrage et la consolidation des gravures. L’étude souligne la conservation et l’intégration des restaurations passées à l’aide de matériaux contemporains; l’objectif poursuivi étant une stabilisation des conditions de l’ouvrage et l’amélioration de la solidité ainsi que de la flexibilité de la reliure.
