Cet article vise à proposer une lecture de la collaboration comme étant rendue possible par l’existence d’ambiguïtés organisationnelles et communicationnelles résolues par l’opération d’un signifiant flottant. Une observation participante autour d’un comité d’évaluation de projets dont les décisions dépassent son mandat premier sert à illustrer la proposition théorique. Le signifiant flottant est alors présenté comme faisant l’objet de transactions organisationnelles. Sa flexibilité sémiotique permet la collaboration en organisant des intérêts divergents par la suspension de velléités critiques et la mobilisation de mécanismes normatifs.

This paper aims to propose a reading of collaboration as made possible by the existence of organizational and communicative ambiguities, solved by the operation of a floating signifier. A participating observation around a project evaluation committee whose decisions go beyond its primary mandate, serves to illustrate the theoretical proposal. The floating signifier is then presented as the object of organizational transactions. Its semiotic flexibility enables collaboration, by organizing divergent interests through the suspension of critical inclinations and the mobilization of normative mechanisms.
