O Projeto “Álbum de Família”, desenvolvido pela Biblioteca, Arquivo e Museu da Câmara Municipal de Palmela, tem como objetivos divulgar e enriquecer a coleção de imagens antigas do município e compilar informação sobre as mesmas a partir da recolha de património imaterial, bem como contribuir para promover a identidade coletiva e a coesão social deste território. São dinamizados encontros com a comunidade onde, através da projeção de imagens, são registadas memórias que recriam momentos passados entre gerações a folhear álbuns de fotografias: a evocar recordações, a relatar acontecimentos, a reconhecer os retratados. O município, já antes com projetos neste âmbito, como as “Conversas de Poial” ou “Uma Imagem, Mil Memórias”, tem, no “Álbum de Família”, a colaboração entre serviços, numa aproximação à comunidade e mobilizando todos para um objetivo comum: a fixação das memórias, o arquivo dos testemunhos e o entrelaçar das histórias individuais na história coletiva, numa redescoberta da história da comunidade a múltiplas vozes.

The “Álbum de Família” Project, developed by the Library, Archive and Museum of the Municipality of Palmela, aims to highlight and enrich the collection of antique images of the Municipality and compile information, from the gathering of Intangible Cultural Heritage, as well as to contribute to promote the collective identity and social cohesion of this territory. Encounters with the community are held and, through the projection of images, memories are registered, recreating the moments spent between relatives of different generations, flipping through photo albums, evoking memories, reporting events and recognizing those who are in the pictures. The Municipality had already some projects in this area such as: “Conversas de Poial” as well as “Uma Imagem, Mil Memórias”. The “Álbum de Família” project was brought about by the collaboration amongst ser­vices, approaching the community, mobilizing everyone towards a common goal, the retention of memories, the archiving of testimonies and the intertwining of individual stories in the collective history and the rediscovery of community history from multiple voices.
